Nominations Open for Hamilton Community Awards

November 13, 2012 – Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has announced that the nomination period is now open for the Hamilton Community Awards, comprising the 76th annual Royal Bank Distinguished Citizen of the Year and the 16th annual Hamilton Spectator Youth Volunteer of the Year. Nominations will be accepted until December 13, 2013, with winners being announced at the Hamilton Community Awards dinner on January 21, 2013 at Liuna Station. Nominations for the RBC Distinguished Citizen of the Year are open to those who have had a great impact on Hamilton.  Nominations for The Hamilton Spectator Youth Volunteer of the Year are open to individuals ages 19 and under (as of December 31, 2013) and who have taken on volunteer leadership roles. The nomination form, is asking potential nominators:
  1. Do you know someone who is the ultimate Hamiltonian?
  2. Do you know someone who works tirelessly for their community?
  3. What Hamiltonian, in your estimation, made the most impact on this community in 2013? A panel of distinguished citizens will perform independent research, along with the support letters provided by the nominators, to reach its decision. Business Confidence Surges In Hamilton-Niagara, Leads The Province

Hamilton, ON, FEB 11th 2014: The Hamilton-Niagara Peninsula region leads the province in business confidence, according to a new survey from the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and Leger Marketing. The annual Ontario Business Confidence Index shows that 59 percent of surveyed businesses are confident in Ontario’s economy–up a significant 15 percentage points from last year.

Life Science Report Released by Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Makes Key Recommendations for Capitalizing on Hamilton’s Strengths
