Saying Farewell to our Interns, Mannat & Jessica

· by c.dambrosio@hamiltonchamber.ca

As the Fall semester comes to a close, we are delighted to announce the successful completion of Mannat Kullar and Jessica Ho’s internship with our team. Over the past few months, these two talented fourth-year Communications students from McMaster University have made significant contributions to our workplace, infusing it with fresh perspectives, creative ideas, and a passion for marketing and communications.

Their presence has been invaluable, particularly during our Hamilton Day initiative, where they played a pivotal role in shaping our engagement with the business community.

Before they wrapped up their internship, both students shared a little bit about their experiences:

From the very beginning, I felt welcomed by the team at the Chamber, and experienced an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere. I found the environment at the Chamber made me confident in my work and the ideas I could propose. Having mentorship from the Chamber’s team has taught me a lot about the communications industry while sharpening my skills through taking constructive feedback. The Chamber also provided me with numerous networking opportunities through various internal and external events, as well as introducing me to some local businesses that relate to my professional goals and interests. Through this internship I was able to acquire practical experience and form a better understanding of my career goals.

Mannat Kullar

I really appreciated the opportunity to be fully immersed in Hamilton Day and to be trusted with such a wide variety of tasks, from writing to video production to social media. I feel that I developed technical skills in so many areas of communications. Witnessing all the moving pieces of this campaign and the hard work of the team leading up to the event was great, and seeing the event come to life that weekend felt so rewarding. Throughout these few months, I became more immersed in the Hamilton community and got to experience first-hand the many great businesses and initiatives that take place in the city.

Please join us in wishing Mannat and Jessica all the best in their academic pursuits and future careers. We look forward to seeing the great things they will undoubtedly achieve.
