Hamilton Chamber Launches Rainbow Registered Accreditation Program in Hamilton with Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) are partnering together to offer Hamilton businesses the Rainbow Registered Accreditation.

Rainbow Registered is a nationally recognized safe space accreditation program developed by the CGLCC, Tourism HR Canada, and funded by the Federal government. It recognizes Canadian businesses and organizations that are LGBT+ inclusive, and in turn helps customers, clients, partners and prospective employees to identify LGBT+ friendly businesses and organizations.

The most common definition has been the medical model which frames disability as an impairment and a feature of a person’s body. The social model of disability reframes a disability as a mismatched interaction between a person and their environment.

January 19, 2022 – HAMILTON, ON: The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce’s Board Chair, Louis Grilli, has accepted the resignation of President and CEO, Keanin Loomis, which will be effective March 4, 2022.

“Keanin has led the complete transformation of our 176-year old institution,” said Louis Grilli, Hamilton Chamber Board Chair. “When he started in 2013, the Board tasked him with reestablishing the Chamber into a relevant, modern pillar institution in our community – I would say he’s done that and then some.

Hamilton Chamber of Commerce brings back “Hamilton Day” on Saturday, November 20 – A one-day celebration to support local

October 20, 2021 – HAMILTON, ON: On Saturday, November 20, 2021, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is bringing back Hamilton Day. The organization first held the event in 1931 during the depths of the Great Depression to boost spirits and the local economy. While it was only one day in an economic downturn that carried on for years, Hamilton Day was symbolic of a rallying spirit in the face of adversity.
