We are no longer accepting resumes for either of these positions.  Thank-you to all who have submitted a resume.

Membership Manager – We are no longer accepting applications for this position.

It’s often said that time flies when you’re having fun. Well, I have to agree, especially when that year is spent learning to be a mom and watching your new child begin growing up.  My daughter Sloane will turn one year old in September, and although it was my full intention to return to the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce after my maternity leave concluded, I’ve instead made the decision to commit my time and energy to raising a family.

One of the best parts of my job as Membership Manager was meeting new and existing members of the Chamber.  There were so many opportunities to network, get involved and participate in division and committee meetings, events and collaborative functions. I will miss this dearly.

I’m excited to stay connected and look forward to being involved with Chamber activities whenever babysitters, grandparents and the husband can take over my mommy duties.  I have always had a passion connecting people and I know that will never change.

Three years ago when I accepted my position as Membership Manager, my small business took a back seat so that I could concentrate on helping the Chamber prosper under the newly appointed President, Keanin Loomis.  His commitment to the membership and his innovative leadership were easy to follow.

Going forward, I am returning to running my own business. My graphic wrap company, called Graphic in Traffic (http://www.graphicintraffic.com), will allow me to work from home and accept projects that I can manage as a full-time mom.

That being said, the Chamber is now looking to fill the position of Membership Manager. For a full job description, CLICK HERE.

I look forward to seeing everyone at upcoming events – now that I’ll be able to socialize! Thank you all for the amazing two years I’ve enjoyed at the Chamber.  It was a wonderful ride!

Sincerely,
Rachale van der Veen (Cavanagh)

Chief Operating Officer – We are no longer accepting applications for this position.

When you hire good people, you have to expect they will be coveted. If you read July’s Panorama, you know that our Vice President, Scott McCammon, moved on to become the President & CEO of the Milton Chamber of Commerce. We were incredibly sad to see him go, but feel so fortunate that we had the opportunity to work with him while we had him.

More than anything, I’m pleased for Scott; he got what he wanted – an opportunity to lead another chamber again.

The VP role was created last year because this organization needed greater executive capacity to elevate our operations. We stand on the shoulders of 171 years of excellent leadership, and we have exciting momentum in a city with equally exciting momentum. But, just like this city, the possibilities for the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce are almost limitless.

While I love the breadth of responsibilities associated with my job, no one person can manage all the functions and ambitions of the organization, help meet the needs of our 1,000 members and provide the community leadership expected from this position. Internal and external stakeholders (not to mention my family!) deserve more than my calendar allows.

With his experience in the chamber network, Scott was the perfect candidate to demonstrate the proof of concept behind our executive expansion. (I joked often that he was far more qualified than I was to be running the organization. Because it was true.)

And, as expected, he made a huge impact in a short amount of time…

…which leaves a huge hole to fill in this organization.Because there’s a lot more work to do.Behind every challenge, is an opportunity and this is a great one for both the organization and for a high-performing individual with a certain skillset.

Sincerely,
Keanin Loomis,
President and CEO
