A new industry-led organization is in place to help drive the growth of Canada’s Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster announced by the federal government earlier this month. Next Generation Manufacturing Canada is a network of private and public sector entities working together to ensure that Canada is at the forefront of advanced manufacturing on the global stage. Its CEO, Jayson Myers, spoke in Hamilton last week at a special supercluster celebration hosted by McMaster Innovation Park.   “This is an opportunity to build a world leading manufacturing and technology ecosystem here in Southern Ontario,” he said, emphasizing the importance of “connecting the dots” among an array of existing assets. A key role of Next Generation Manufacturing Canada is to maximize the aggregate, long-term impact of an $800 million private sector investment in Industry 4.0 and other game changing innovations. Strategies include industrial projects, support for the plant floor application of new technologies and processes, and the creation of collaborative networks. “We look forward to working with Jayson and his team to engage local area manufacturers and technology providers,” said Hamilton Chamber CEO Keanin Loomis.
