HAMILTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES ‘HAMILTON GIVES AWARDS’, A NEW INITIATIVE RECOGNIZING SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BUSINESSES IN HAMILTON

The inaugural Hamilton Gives Awards event, presented by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Breakwater Financial and the United Way Halton & Hamilton, is set for Wednesday, May 8 at the Hamilton Convention Centre

Nominate an individual or business for one of the eight Hamilton Gives Awards categories, by the March 22nd deadline.

On Wednesday, May 8, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is recognizing the individuals and businesses that are giving back to the community they call home. The inaugural Hamilton Gives Awards were announced this morning as a new Hamilton Chamber initiative, in partnership with Breakwater Financial and United Way Halton & Hamilton, created to celebrate community leaders in the profit and not-for-profit sectors who are working tirelessly to make a difference. 

In total, eight community leaders will be recognized on May 8th at the Hamilton Convention Centre, and up to $50,000 in charitable donations for local organizations will be raised. Tickets for the awards show go on sale April 1st. The Hamilton Chamber is accepting award nominations beginning today, until the March 22nd deadline. Nominate an individual or business for a Hamilton Gives Award.

Hamilton Gives Awards Categories – Now accepting nominations for the following awards:

Social Impact Lifetime Achievement Award – Honours an individual who has dedicated their life to making a transformative impact on Hamilton, leaving behind a lasting legacy of generosity and compassion.

Community Builder Award – An organization that demonstrates a continuous commitment to ethical leadership, sustainable growth and community building in Hamilton.

Community Impact Award – Non-Profit – Honours not-for-profit organizations that exemplify extraordinary dedication to our community through impactful initiatives that are enriching the lives of their employees and community at large.

Community Impact Award – SME – Honours small to medium organizations that exemplify extraordinary dedication to our community through impactful initiatives that are enriching the lives of their employees and the community at large.

Employee Engagement Award – Honours organizations that promote volunteerism and community engagement with non-profits through group projects or by encouraging skilled volunteer efforts.

Sustainable Hamilton Award – Recognizes an organization that is committed to attaining a greener and more sustainable future for Hamilton through carbon reduction, sustainability and environmental conservation.

Women Empowerment Award – Honours organizations that demonstrate exceptional leadership in fostering a stronger community for women in business, uplifting and empowering them to thrive and make a positive impact. 

Youth Empowerment Award – Honours organizations who inspire and champion the advancement of youth in our community by providing opportunities, support, and resources for their growth, success, and meaningful engagement
