Chamber Presents Pre-Budget Submissions to the City and Province

The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has submitted two pre-budget submission documents to the municipal and provincial government over the last month. The submissions highlight our recommendations to the respective elected officials on the priorities of the Chamber.

1) Provincial Pre-Budget Submission: The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce submitted our pre-budget submission outlining our membership’s provincial priorities to Finance Minister Charles Sousa as part of their public consultation process.

Media Release: Hamilton Chamber of Commerce applauds the Province of Ontario’s commitment to a fully funded Light Rail Transit system in Hamilton.

Hamilton, ON, Jan 26, 2015: The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce is highly encouraged by today’s announcement by Mayor Fred Eisenberger that the Province of Ontario has committed to funding 100% of the capital costs of a light rail transit system in Hamilton.

The project is expected to run along the B-Line corridor with further discussions on an additional link to the new James St North GO Station.

The awards, which were attended by 150 people, were also sponsored by The REALTORS Association of Hamilton/Burlington and the Ancaster News.

Changing of the Guard

Vesudha Seth

Vasudha Seth, a marketing executive with ArcelorMittal Dofasco, was formally introduced as the new Chair of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce at our 168th Annual General Meeting on March 25, 2014.  She takes over from past Chair Louise Dompierre and will serve a two year term. In keeping with a time honoured tradition, Vasudha was sworn in by the Mayor of Hamilton, Bob Bratina.
