Hamilton Chamber Announces the 2023 Outstanding Business Achievement Award Winners

March 29, 2023 – HAMILTON, ON: At a gala celebration at Carmen’s Banquet Centre on Wednesday, March 29, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce announced this year’s winning recipients of the annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards (OBAA), presented by RBC.

This year’s OBAAs honoured local businesses and organizations for their achievements, business growth, and overall impact on the community.

The Chamber is pleased to announce the following winners:

Hamilton Citizen of the Year Recipient: Carole MacVicar

Hamilton CEO of the Year Award: PJ Mercanti, CEO of Carmen’s Group

Century Award Recipients: Presented to both Canada Life and Sun Life for their contributions to the Hamilton community for over 100 years.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Award: International Union of Painters and Allied Trades

Not-for-Profit Organization Award: Shalem Mental Health Network

Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award: Vanessa Green, Founder and Owner of Greenlight Content

Small Business of the Year Award (1-10 employees): Electric Diner

Mid-Sized Business of the Year Award (11-50 employees): Gala Bakery

Large Business of the Year Award (50+ employees): Oakridge Landscape Contractors Ltd.
