This time, Chamber President Greg Dunnett will be interviewing Joe Nethery, Founder/Principal of Nethery Planning, to hear his stories, insights and key learnings from his business journey.

About Joe Nethery

Joe Nethery (BES, MPA, MCIP, RPP) is in his nineteenth year as a Registered Professional Planner—and was once introduced by a mayor as the planner who “makes zoning fun,” a line he has happily kept on his CV ever since. He has delivered projects in more than thirty Ontario municipalities, along with Alberta, Nova Scotia, and New Zealand, bringing positivity, stability, and transparency to every relationship.

Joe received the Ontario Professional Planners Institute’s Award of Excellence for his work on the Town of Oakville’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law Review, and has been qualified as an expert witness at the Ontario Land Tribunal and the Niagara Escarpment Hearing Office. He has spoken on eleven conference panels and written six articles for professional journals.

In 2023, Joe founded Nethery Planning to demystify the planning process for private and public clients alike—giving developers and the public a clear path through city hall, and offering municipalities a foundation for more transparent conversations with their residents.

He lives in Hamilton (Dundas) with his partner, their three kids, and several thriving cherry tomato planters.
