Wednesday, August 27, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. | McMaster University | Building Canada’s Future: What Matters Most? | McMaster University welcomes members of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce to Opportunity Marketplace ’25, a free event to advance community-engaged teaching, learning and research. This year’s theme is Building Canada’s Future: What Matters Most? The program will feature an opening talk by Marcia Young, Host of CBC Radio’s World Report followed by a series of panel discussions on the topics of energy, health, housing and wildfires. Each panel will include a mix of practitioners spearheading signature innovations. The goal is to accelerate homegrown solutions to nationally significant challenges at a time of peril and promise. Registrants will learn about transformative technologies and practices, and opportunities to collaborate with McMaster faculty, students and staff. Monday, September 15 | Wesley | 33rd Wesley Annual Open Golf Tournament | This is a single- day event open to golfers of all abilities while raising funds for emerging priorities in Wesley’s Children, Youth, and Families programs, including Wesley Youth Housing. Enjoy a fun day of golf with new and old friends while helping create opportunities for at-risk youth. Join us for a delicious BBQ lunch on the patio before enjoying 18 holes of golf. Charity of Hope | 1st Annual Lights of Hope Campaign | Hess Village has launched “Christmas in July” with Charity of Hope’s 1st Annual Lights of Hope campaign, raising funds for children and youth in Hamilton.
