SUMMARY:Human Resources Special Panel Discussion &#8211; Women in the Workplace

DESCRIPTION:
	The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Human Resources Committee is h
	osting its annual discussion panel each to address issues that are of con
	cern to its membership. This year the committee is proud to host a panel
	 of five prolific women from the Hamilton-Burlington Bay Area who will dis
	cuss what businesses are doing to create positive work environments and gr
	owth opportunities for women in the Bay Area.  They will also answer ques
	tions on a range of topics including how women can break into male-dominat
	ed fields\, changes to legislation that affect women in the workplace\, ex
	isting wage differences\, and personal accounts of breaking through the gl
	ass ceiling. The event is latest in a series of initiatives by the Chamber
	. In 2014\, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce\, in collaboration with YWCA 
	Hamilton and McMaster University\, launched The Women & Diversity EXCLerat
	or Project.  The first of its kind to present a comprehensive overview of
	 women’s representation in senior leadership positions in Hamilton and 
	Halton’s most prominent organizations\, this report analyzes women in l
	eadership across nine sectors\, and provides an essential first benchmark
	 against which future progress may be measured. Within the context of even
	ts such as Success in the City (2007-2016)\, Women’s Leadership Summit (
	2012-2016)\, and Women in Leadership Networking Events (2015)\, Hamilton i
	s no stranger to promoting and supporting the inclusion and encouragement 
	of women as entrepreneurs\, leaders and change-makers in the business comm
	unity and this event will serve as a forum for sharing best practices and
